XelyoMax has been developed by a patented method based on the following concepts:
- Use of allogeneic pathogen free platelets (sourced from reputable European blood banks), as a source of growth factors.
- Purified growth factors with no need for further use of thrombin or calcium chloride for platelet activation.
- 18 months shelf life of the final lyophilized growth factors.
- Standardizing the amount of growth factors in each vial to the equivalent of those coming from platelets found in 20ml of whole blood, with a platelet count of 1 millions/UL.
- Fibrinogen-depleted, water-soluble product for easy administration, with no gel formation. This is of particular significance for intra-articular injections.
As patient safety is our first priority, XelyoMax is pathogen-free thanks to the multiple steps we follow towards pathogen reduction, viral inactivation and sterile filtration. This eliminates all risks of microbiological contamination.
